04 / A LITTLE CLARITY

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Choosing a team is a big decision. Here are the things worth asking before we start.

Ask us anything
How do I choose the right agency, and how do I tell the good ones apart?

Ask three questions and the field thins out fast. First: who owns the code, the hosting and the domain? The answer should be you, in writing, from day one. Second: what happens to our existing URLs? Anyone vague about a redirect map will cost you rankings you already paid for. Third: show me a month where the numbers went down and tell me what you changed. An agency that has never had a flat month is either new or not looking. Proximity matters far less than most people think; overlapping hours, a shared project board and monthly reporting from raw data beat being in the same city.

Is hiring an agency actually worth it, or should we hire in-house?

It depends on load, not on principle. A designer, a developer and an SEO on staff cost well over two hundred thousand a year fully loaded, and each is idle a good part of the time on a single site. An agency makes sense while the work is project-shaped or under roughly thirty hours a week. Once you consistently need more than that, in-house is cheaper and faster, and the honest move for us is to help you hire and hand over. We have done that. It costs us a retainer and it is still the right advice.

What does this cost, and why do quotes vary so wildly?

Because the same brief describes very different work. A configured theme with your branding runs two to eight thousand. A custom marketing site with original design, a real CMS and SEO structure built in runs fifteen to fifty. Ecommerce starts around twenty and climbs with pricing logic, subscriptions and ERP integration. Custom applications begin around forty. What actually moves the number is integrations, whether content is ready, how many distinct page templates there are, and how many people have to approve things. Budget another fifteen to twenty percent per year for maintenance; skipping it is the most expensive saving available.

How long before SEO does anything?

Technical fixes can move impressions in four to six weeks, because you are removing an obstacle rather than building authority. Competitive commercial terms take four to six months of consistent work before rankings turn into steady lead volume. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either targeting terms nobody searches or buying links that will cost you later. We record a baseline in week one so improvement is provable rather than asserted.

Can you guarantee results?

No, and the honest reason is that nobody controls search algorithms, your market or your competitors. What we do commit to is the scope in your proposal, a recorded baseline, and monthly reporting straight from Search Console and analytics rather than a rebranded screenshot. If a month was flat we say it was flat and what we are changing. That is a smaller promise than most agencies make and a much easier one to check.

Why does server-rendered HTML keep coming up?

Because it is the difference between a page search engines can read and one they might. If your content only appears after JavaScript runs, indexing depends on a second rendering pass that is queued and budgeted, and most AI answer engines skip it entirely. Test your own site in fifteen seconds: load it with JavaScript disabled. Whatever is still on screen is the reliable floor of what can be indexed. Every page we build ships its content in the raw HTML.

What does AI automation actually do for a business like mine?

The work worth automating is the repetitive middle: first-pass triage of enquiries, copying data between systems, drafting the same reply for the fortieth time, and answering questions from your own documentation. Judgement, relationships and exceptions stay with your team. We measure the current process in hours per week before building anything, because a task done twice a month cannot repay a two-week build however good the demo looks.

How do you handle a redesign without losing our rankings?

The redirect map is the whole job, and it is done before launch rather than after. Every existing URL is mapped to its destination, the strongest pages keep their structure and internal links, and the site is crawled again after cutover to catch anything missed. Redesigns lose traffic when that step is rushed, which is why we schedule it as its own phase rather than a launch-day task.

What happens after launch, and can we leave?

You own the repository, hosting, domain and analytics from day one, and handover includes architecture notes and a deploy runbook so another team can pick it up. Hosting, maintenance and SEO retainers are available if you would rather we kept running it, but they are a choice rather than a lock-in. If we ever hold your infrastructure to keep your business, we have already lost the argument.

You are in Pakistan and we are not. How does that work?

Most of our work is for clients in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. We hold overlapping hours for calls, work in your timezone for launches, and keep everything in a shared project board and shared documents so progress never depends on catching us live. You get a named team rather than a rotating account manager, and the people who scope your project are the people who build it.

Built with ambitious teams.

Real partnerships. Work we’re proud to put our name on.
